The Verein Weihnachten in Zürich, 8000 Zürich, is responsible for the processing of personal data on this website (mail@weihnachten-zuerich.ch). Your contact person for data protection questions is André Kofmehl.

We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies in individual cases, its provisions apply in addition.

Hosting

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA) and delivered through its network. With every request, Vercel logs technical data: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser type and operating system. We need this data to run the website securely and to fend off attacks. We do not analyse it on a personal level, and Vercel keeps it for a limited time only.

Contact by e-mail or phone

The website has no contact form. If you e-mail or call us, we process the details you give us (name, contact details and your enquiry) in order to reply. We keep them only as long as needed for that purpose.

Cookies and web analytics

We use Google Analytics, a service of Google Ireland Ltd. (Ireland) and Google LLC (USA). Google Analytics sets cookies and records how the website is used: pages viewed, time spent, device type and approximate location. Google Analytics does not store IP addresses. The reports show us which content is read and help us improve the website.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the website still works without them. Google also offers a browser add-on that disables Google Analytics (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). See Google’s privacy policy for details (policies.google.com/privacy).

Whether you have closed the cookie notice is remembered locally in your browser (localStorage). This information does not leave your device.

Members map

On the «Members» page we show our members’ locations on a Google Maps map (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC). When the map loads, your browser sends your IP address and technical details to Google. The map cannot be displayed without this transfer.

Fonts

The website’s fonts are served from our own server. No connection to Google Fonts is made.

Disclosure and transfers abroad

We only pass on personal data where this is necessary to run the website, namely to:

Vercel Inc., USA (hosting and delivery of the website)
Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC, USA (web analytics and map)
Bastion Security GmbH, Zürich (technology, security and maintenance of the website)

Where a recipient is located in a country without adequate data protection, we base the transfer on the provider’s certification under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or on standard contractual clauses. Beyond that, we only disclose data where we are legally obliged to do so.

Data security

The website is delivered exclusively over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Only the people who maintain the website have access to hosting and administration.

Your rights

You may request information about the personal data we process about you and ask for it to be corrected or deleted, unless a statutory retention obligation applies. You may object to processing and withdraw consent at any time. Please contact mail@weihnachten-zuerich.ch. We may ask for proof of identity.

The competent supervisory authority is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), www.edoeb.admin.ch.

Changes

We update this privacy policy when our data processing or the legal situation changes. The version published on this website applies.
